We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Only read the first part of the story but it seems the scientist who preserved that drug deserves more recognition and honors. (I did read he had died but his family would surely appreciate it) Royalty check wouldn't hurt either.
It sounds like it has real possibilities. It doesn’t sound so much like an anti-aging drug, but one that could prevent debilitating illnesses and thus lengthen life spans.
They also claim it can restore muscle mass in the elderly. And it suppresses the immune system but can also enhance it. And it might improve hearing. When they start making many sensational unrelated claims about a single drug, the skeptic in me sees red flags. So we’ll see. I hope all the claims turn out to be true but the track record of drug development generally suggests otherwise.
