Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Romney: I won't rule him out, if he recognizes the impact of the real economic game changers on the existence of the middle class, and presents a credible message for turning that decline around. (I'll grant he did not in 2012.) As it is, I prefer candidates who have been governors and had a track record of success in the public sector (although preferably in manufacturing). I for sure, will pass on any Lawyer/Senators who have spent their entire adult life at the public trough.
Ahhh! Bird Dog has discovered the RP phenomenon, sending us over to RoK! Now, if he'll tune in on Rationale Male, with the occasional reference to Chateau Heartisite, things could get very interesting, very fast!
Hope he's turned his daughters on to theses sites. They sound like perfectly wonderful young women, but have likely been over-exposed to the curse of feminism. Obama wants to raise taxes on the productive. The economy is in the dumper, real unemployment is at great depression levels, most new hires over the last 6 years have been legal and illegal aliens and not Americans, The stock market is phony bouyed up by massive transfussion of funds from the FED vie QE. The much touted economic rebound of the last two months is totally fabricated and was one of the worst retail Christmas seasons ever. The MSM is hiding the real numbers and putting out the government fabrications like the good useful idiots that they are. How long can this house of cards stand? We are in a depression not a recession, it has not gotten better over the last 6 years and everything that has been done to prop it all up has simply made the inevitable price to pay when it crashes that much greater. This is Obama's legacy.
This is what I fear, that when 2016 rolls around a Republican will be president (rarely do we have a continuation of party after 8 years in the presidency). This new president will preside over the dismantling of the crap Obama threw at us (which was all temporary and built on borrowed money). It will be very hard not to have that dismantling cause some kind of chaos in the stock market and other sectors (really a correction rather than chaos), which will be laid at the feet of Republicans.
I guess what I'm hoping is that we get a Ted Cruz-like president who has the guts to do 'unpopular' things and take the heat for this correction. Stick to his guns and KNOW that down the road this will make us a stronger nation. Only a leader with those kinds of guts to not listen to the MSM and the Democrats and to make the hard choices can save us. But who wants to be that person? I, was gifted with beauty. The women in my family never spoke of appearances other than to say someone looked nice--referring to clothes or hair. I come from a family of women who for five generations at least were taught the New Testament lesson--to love the other as Jesus would. My looks were something I never thought about until I was about 35! They lasted a long time and for that I am eternally grateful.
However, you cannot imagine how shocked I was when I went down to the Human Resource office at the private university where my DH had worked for seven years. DH was a department chair. His personal office manager was a lesbian--she was nice and very professional. Her live in girl friend got spousal reciprocity benefits from their university that included their university paying for employees and their spouses to take classes at the public university across town. That was the reason I went to the HR department that day--to ask if I could get the same spousal benefit. The head of HR was sitting in a rocking chair she had brought into her office--the foot massage machine was on the floor next to the chair. When I asked for the spousal reciprocity program she looked up at me and said very clearly: "No deals for women like you!" At first, I thought she mean because we were not a gay couple, years later I realized the real motivation--my looks. Yessir ladies and gentlemen--academic careers of white men are not built upon teaching skills, or in depth understanding of subject matter--they are built upon the looks of their wives. I have long sensed that the women who would be/are my most sincere friends are those women who are the ugliest! Those plain-jane mediocre women in the vast middle are the most evil. Of course, because of the lessons the last three generations of women have been taught even the ugliest women will be herded together into absolute obedience to femob rule! re Sweden to failed state
The article speculates Sweden will be a failed state in 10 years. Perhaps so, though pitchfork and torch option will still be open to frustrated voters. Not sure whether enough testosterone remains in Sweden for that option however. The larger question is where the West will be in 10 years? Money is being printed as never before and benefit payouts are going to rise astronomically. Immigration is unchecked. One wonders if the West could crack up as quickly as the nations affected by the Arab Spring? Turtles: my first thought was that we are told that they return to their birthplace but how do we know they arent making it up?
Right like someone would turn down that grant $$$. I read a bad fiction book once that explained animals ability to navigate by magnetic fields and called it 'the stream'.basically animals operate with enhanced senses which allow them to find their way home thru unfamiliar territory, smell fear and sense earthquakes. |
