We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I think I first read one of Thomas Sowell's columns when I was a teenager, around 1970. I am not even sure why I read the column or what it was about, but I was impressed with his logic enough to still remember approx. when I first read his work.
Re: Liberal havoc on blacks.
I call it "Stay Cat Syndrome". It happens to apply to all people though. If you set out food and a tray of milk for a stray cat, it will be there tomorrow waiting for more. After awhile, if you are late with the food and drink, the cat might even get a bit noisy to remind you. The cat rarely has to hunt for food anymore. You could write 5000 words about this subject, but about 75 words is adequate.
I have observed the syndrome in myself, as well as others.

Sowell is a treasure (as is Walter Williams). Hopefully, there will be people who come after them who are as learned, as clear thinking, and as persuasive. I don't care what race they may be but having some of those people be black might spur other blacks to understand what they understand and that would be very positive. In any case, we and our children are in trouble if there is no one to teach us the simple truths Sowell and Williams have been teaching for decades.
He is a national treasure.
His writings and videos will be studied 1,000 years from now.
Somehow, he's been articulating a vision for society since 1975 that is still in the future. Astonishing courage, immaculate reasoning, ruthlessly honest analysis...and the nicest man you'll ever meet.
