We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
We have some friends over and have a few drinks, play some games. We don't entertain often, so it's a good excuse to get together if you don't much otherwise.
An interesting one (which may or may not be replicated tonight) was the NYE in Las Vegas (1 Jan 1974) when the city received an inch or so of snow. It was good for tow truck drivers and auto repair shops. I was fun for me and my classmates to drive out to an empty (High School) parking lot and do doughnuts in the melting snow. Imagine immature drivers playing demolition derby. Remarkably no crashes ensued.
