We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Re: Brandeis Student Under Attack for Calling Out Leftist Hate
I am not optimistic that Brandeis will do the reasonable thing by protecting Mael and his right to report the truth (it reminds me of Steyn's battle with Canada for the right to publish the truth - in his case relating to Muslims). Doing so could open them to criticism because the powers that be there and in academia in general actually support Mael's attackers (which reminds me of the Duke faculty who supported the accusations against the Duke lacrosse team before any evidence was heard and did not recant when the truth came out). This is apparently what passes for a 'liberal' arts education now but should be renamed to 'leftist' arts education.
This is actually our fault. In the past, at the least, she would be escorted out of the restaurant and at the most, she would be arrested. But for some reason, we allow this kind of behavior. Maybe, it's because she's black (there's good evidence for that - for example, we let Obummer get away with things no white president would dream of), but it's just as likely that it is because she being overly obnoxious and overly assertive. The reason doesn't matter. The fact is that she went on for far too long.
