We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I would love for her to run. She may have been able to overcome her fake Cherokee heritage claim in a state-wide race, but it won't be so easy for a presidential race. Also, although she talks about 'big banks' and how evil they are, she has done NOTHING during her tenure to fix any of it.
I know of a group of people who have gotten together over the internet about the housing crisis. These are people who lost their homes through questionable tactics of the banks...many of them thought Warren would be the one to help them after she was elected and were heartened by some of the speeches she gave concerning lending practices and bank shenanigans. After about a year, they realized it was nothing but talk and decried that she had been taking advantage of their personal home crises to get ahead in politics.
Go for it, Liz. You will get creamed in the primary race...and if you somehow make it through that, the presidential election itself will help you slowly implode.
Thanks for the link. This is exactly what I'm talking about. In a state-wide senate race, it is easier to shove things under the rug and win even with a spotty background. However, in the long primary run plus the presidential race, it will NOT be easy for her to cover up this stuff.
