We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The 2011 article mentions a movie but IMDB for Jerry Bruckheimer doesn't show anything. Must have been shelved. Seems like a great Hollywood movie with the ending of putting a piece of the World Trade Center being buried in Afghanistan.
It's amazing what these men can and will do. The guy who rode a horse with a broken back made me think of Marcus Luttrell. These guys have done more in a week than most of us will do in a lifetime.
Obama in 2012 debate with Romney: "You mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916," Obama said in a pointed jab at the GOP nominee. "Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets because the nature of our military's changed."
Too bad Romney didn't have this story at his fingertips.
Reminds me of the reported interview with a bureaucrat trying to convince him to sign off on giving a contract to a dataprocessing company that relied on offshore workers (India at the time) to replace state workers.
The pitch was completely on the cost savings and the bureaucrats objections that it would cost American jobs was brushed off with the claim that displaced workers would find more rewarding, higher paid jobs...somewhere. "Hand work was replaced by factory work, and labor performed by hand was replaced with labor performed with the mind. Your workers in the USA will move on to the next level!", pitchman sayeth. The managers response was "What comes after the mind?".
Turn the absurdity of their line of reasoning back on them.
Of course Obama has since showed his intentions. Straving the military of funds to replace expended weapons and refusing to spend money on the maintenance of our nuclear deterrent. Far as I know his plan to stop buying or paying for the building of the Tomahawk missiles used for offense is on track to completely deplete our arsenal by 2016.
