We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
My first real job out of college (after a few, let's say, stumbles) was working on a project to build sewage treatment plants in New York City. I was the computer guy for the project so I had the pleasure of visiting several of them. Got to tour one of them once -- and yes the smell was as expected.
Also, as you can imagine, they tend to not get built in the nicer neighborhoods, so I got to visit some of the rougher areas of the City.
I wouldn't have click on this video if it was at any other site. So I clicked, and found it entertaining and funny. Then, the story moves into Lawrence Township, NJ. I grew up here through 1973 (well, I didn't really grow up). I spent alot of time on what was a non working farm across the street, 1/4 mile east. I know this area well. I do not recall the fellow in the report though.
Thanks. Maybe I know more shit than I thought, having lived in Lawrence Township.
