Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Ladies and their sex drives


The gigolo industry is gradually coming out of the closet: Male escorts - Is the growing market for male escorts a sign of female sexual liberation or just a re-run of the same old stereotypes?


This has nothing to do with "liberation."  Women have always had healthy sex drives, but just kept quiet about it. The illusion of genteel innocence can be sexy to men. On the other hand, the image of dirty, nasty and accessible femininity can be sexy to men too. Almost anything can be sexy to men.  Despite modern lesbian feminism, men should never underestimate female sexual longings and fantasies. Female fantasies are at least as reckless as those of men.


Women are, perhaps, more discriminating than guys but their needs for sex are abundant, especially in middle age. Perhaps Mother Nature wants us to get knocked up before it's too late.

Nah. I think it just feels good, especially when the chances of getting knocked up are somewhere between slim and none at that age.

Spoken from experience, I have more than once fantasized.

"Almost anything can be sexy to men."

You could have left off the "almost".

I'm available, by the way. Though it will have to be early in the morning, when I have energy. Won't be of particular longevity, either. But the coffee and small talk afterward will be life changing.

Women are "more discriminating"? Compared to what?

That must explain their fascination and longing for bad boys, jerks and rock band drummers. Or why so many women return to the arms of lovers who physically assault them.

Meanwhile, men just walk away from such annoying types of women on a regular basis.

Oh, and please address the development of the mechanical vibrator, a device of convenience invented by a OBGYN who got tired of wearing out his arm muscles relieving the sexual tensions of his patients, back in the day when every married man "recognized" women did not need or could not reach sexual climax!

I've known a couple of guys who were recruited to service women. That was back in the days before Craigs list and it would be interesting to see how word got around in those days. Someone was running the business.
