We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
“It’s a very clever, you know, basic exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter,” Gruber, an economist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said during a speech at the University of Rhode Island in November 2012.
She (the spouse who must be obeyed) opined the other day that the various "ciders" that are now taking over the endcaps at the grocer's are a reaction to the (as she puts it) "overhopping" of specialty beers.
I'm inclined to agree - at least here in the Mid Atlantic the "rule" for craft beers over the past decade has been to take a paper label + more hops than one can imagine = WOWNEWBEER!!!.
"42 Percent of New Medicaid Recipients in the Last Two Years Were Immigrants"
I think that was the intent of immigration. It serves no purpose for the citizens. It is 100% a political act. There is no crying need in this country for uneducated people who cannot speak English and do not want to assimilate. The increase in legal immigration is intended to crash the system. The fact that they typically vote Democrat is gravy but not the driving factor in the decision to dramatically increase legal immigration. Illegal immigration has a similar dark purpose. It will destroy our social safety net, bankrupt hospitals, tax the middle class into poverty and create a situation where the citizens and hangers on will eagerly agree to trade the constitution for a dictator. Thank a Democrat and viva the revolution.
The Education Department, just like the Energy Department were formed to fix particular problems - that incidentally have not gotten any better and only worse since their inception. This is an opportunity for at Education Department, at least, to change that. A sane administration could prohibit the Education Department from subsidizing school systems that do not allow real parental (the money follows the child) school choice.
Efforts to reform schools from within government have been failures for forty years. The only way reform is possible is for the consumers to take back their rights.
The Department of Education and Department of Energy are unable to fix any problems. The first issue with them is that they are utterly beyond any constitutional authority of the federal government. The second issue is that they are completely beyond the competence of the government. The third issue is that they have become captured by ideologically-driven special interests and thereby crippled from doing more than advancing those interests. Are we surprised? Ought we be surprised? Constitutional and political issues aside, government is a tool. Not all problems - either real or imagined - can be successfully addressed by this tool. Wrong tool for those tasks. How can we tell? The problems that prompted their creation haven't been ameliorated let alone fixed and additional unintended problems have been created by these departments.
We must not forget that just because we won last Tuesday and managed to throw out a few politicians. There are still thousands of women out there who were trained to carry the party forward for all the years of their active lives. That is to say they are still sitting on your local school boards, your local church boards, your local neighborhood councils, etc.,etc. They are still sustained financially by jobs given to them by the bullies of the women's network. They are still obedient to the puppet mistresses in Seattle, Chicago, Phoenix. These women may or may not have completed college--it doesn't matter --the only job qualification they need is blind obedience to the party. These women may or may not have husbands--doesn't matter--pity the poor soul to whom they are married! BE EVER VIGILANT for unqualified women in leadership roles--small or large roles--doesn't matter they are amongst us and they will fight even harder to have things go "their way". An election is only a one day event--it's what we allow to happen in our personal communities on a day to day basis that protects democracy.
Would like to hear from anyone hear their thoughts, or their insights as to the terms of a home mortgage loan contract. I am looking to find those terms in a contract that will best protect us from some kind of lender maneuvering, deception, etc. In other words what words, and clauses need to be in the contract to assure the greatest possible protection from the lender? What clauses should we look out for? Thank you
