Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I particularly liked this line:

We could say that about ANY Progressive agenda item. They are designed to help a few people, but they make the problem worse under the guise of helping.

I could not agree more, the lonely poor vegan who can't wait to end it all might try eating meat and living a bit more on the edge then she might meet here end sooner but the ride cold be a bit more fun and less bleak. Maybe smoke a good cigar and drink a bit of whiskey along with a big thick, rare steak just to clog the whole system.

As for the 41 year old expecting her child alone, I wish her the very best of luck and joy in raising her child. I hope the circumstances work out for her.

Really? Here's some free advise; walk away from the mortgage and a house that evidently is missing some major walls, move into a flat in London (lose all but maybe one cat), if by the mercy of God a man asks you out to dinner then order a steak and Let Him Pay. Smile. Try not to be a twit.

The older I get, the more I realize how feminism has totally screwed up women. Neither of my sons has any interest in getting into a relationship, and I can't say I blame them.

Ooooooh! "TEH Stoopid" is very strong in this one!

Never mind a fatherless household has a greater chance of turning out felonious children than the "Old-fashioned" two parent of opposite sex, kind. But then, its all about HER, dontcha know?
