We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The Political Cores

Like some of you, I've been reading about the election from all corners of the web: Left, Conservative, MSM, etc.


One take-home I get from it all is that the Dem core, on which they rely for votes and/or money, consists of single women, billionaires and multi-millionaires, "old money", crony capitalists,  Wall St. millionaires,  unionistas, Hollywood and its allies and sycophants, black Americans, government-dependent Americans, and urban white Liberals (including nice gentry Liberals, and academics, students, and college townspeople).


That's not news, but I just find it interesting. I can't really relate to any of those bloc-voting components.


The other take-home I get is that those people have an incomprehensible hatred and contempt for ordinary hard-working and entrepreneurial people like me. Why? I do not hate them, and it is unlikely that they would hate me if they met me. I happily work 14-hour days to build our business and to employ and supervise the new people we need.


Our major challenges to continuing growth are competition (good) and government (bad).

You're not them. It's tribalism at the heart - you are not of the tribe therefore you are an enemy.

You may not SEE yourself as their enemy, but rest assured that they see you as something which must either be controlled so you are not a threat - or you must be destroyed if you can't be controlled.

I personally still cling to my guns and religion. But right now I am not feeling bitter.

I am waiting for someone to tell Obama on Friday, "The election is over. We won, you lost, deal with it." Feed his pompous and arrogant words right back to him.

It is not tribalism, it is the Left. They are 1) moral cretins, and 2) live in one or the other of the "false consciousnesses" created by the Left.

They "hate" you because you are an rational, normal adult--in a word "reality".

This constituancy has, by the way, the almost exact same composition as the the Soviet Nomenklaruta once had--all one need do is substitute "Party Bosses" for "Billionaires" and then you have it.

All of these people either are thoroughly fatuous "useful idiots" or they are the direct beneficiaries of the Democrats Marxist hijacking of American Democracy.

It is a very scary matter for very few of them will ever change.
Some of the young will wise up, but other then that they have to be dealt with sooner or later.

Actually you should at least deplore and detest this pack of vipers for if they are not marginalized they eventually will destroy what is left of the nation. To restore this country to what it once was most certainly means their marginalization. Since they hold so much of the high ground, this is a daunting task.

While this election was refreshing, do not imaging it constitutes a real "sea change". The pendulum will swing back soon enough,

I have many liberal and left wing friends (not always the same thing). I would say that in most cases in their heart they know the Republicans/conservatives are racist homophobes and all the other names the far left labels them. But it gives them great pleasure to use those labels and to paint the right as radical and bad people. I do believe that for the most part the one thing all liberals have in common is anger at the other side (who ever that is) and a belief that the other side deserves to be tarred and feathered and therefore the lies are justified. The liberals all believe that for the most part their own political and social opinions are right and must be implemented and that the end justifies the means. I don't really think that any of this is a suprise to anyone. But here is the kicker. A large percentage of my far left leaning friends want even more then this. They want this country to pay for past wrongs both real and imagined and they would prefer to see it destroyed then in the hands of the conservatives. This is almost a pathological need for the far left. They would actively work for the destruction of this country rather then let the conservatives have congress and the white house. I fully expect these people to react badly to this latest election.

They might not hate you personally.

But they would hate you for taking "more than your fair share."

It doesn't matter that whatever you provide your clients is given in a fair and equal fashion - they get something of value in exchange.

No, that's not on their mind. They will say you must overcharge, somehow or some way, if you are earning anything. Or you are cheating your workers, though they work for you because they feel you pay them well enough to do the job they are doing.

They will hate you primarily because they will apply a subjective filter to their analysis of what they feel you represent. They will hate you because you are capable of doing things they cannot. And they will seek to take it from you because "it's just not fair."

I don't really think it's envy. It is, of a sort. I think it's intellectual laziness. They envy your intelligence to understand how a market works - something they are incapable of fathoming.
