We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
It is a kind of racism or tribalism. Eva Longoria was born an American but considers herself a Mexican, or a Mexican-American, or a Latina. Therefore she advocates for Mexicans/hispanics and the Spanish language among other things. If she were "white" or of European descent and had exactly the same feelings about her race/tribe/culture she would be called a racist by the left. But her's is an "acceptable" racism. She isn't a bad person, she just doesn't consider herself to be an American first. She seems to resent America. No doubt her Masters in Chicano Studies filled her mind with poison about America. It would be really interesting to hear how she talks among her friends instead of just publicly to hear what she really believes.
