We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Except if you walk out without paying, you are not a customer.
You are a thief.
James Chu who runs the SO restaurant in San Francisco had it with such deadbeats. He told Channel 7 that people have become too hard to please. It began when a customer refused to pay because he was displeased with the meal.
"The second guy came up to me and said, 'The rule is, if we don't like it we don't have to pay.' And as he walked out he started cursing at me and that's when I went poof," James Chu told the TV station.
He shut down and posted the sign. He later re-opened it with a sign that said: "We work hard to please everyone, but we know we can't. So if you're hard to please, please just turn around and go somewhere else. Thanks!"
I cannot believe the scope of this scam. First, there is this
explosion of Gluten Free foods in the supermarket to cater
to fairly rare condition that effects less than 1 percent of
American society. But now I am seeing gluten free hot
dogs, beans and all kinds of things that cannot possibly
It was like paying extra for that VHS tape because it was
labeled "Stereo." There are suckers born every minute!
I don't give an f%#@ about James Chu or San Francisco. I do care about Maggie's Farm's campaign to belittle people who cannot have or do not want glutten. Why is that such a big deal with you guys? I cannot eat gluten. More restuarant choices are great. I can pick and choose at most any. But really tired of self righteous people telling other people what to do. Otherwise, this website is cool.
I don't think the issue is Maggie's farm belittling people. The gluten discussion is out there. People have opinions pro and con. And then there is the issue of the facts vs the fad. Would the discussion upset me if I were gluten intolerent? No I would think it was about the other guys who were faking it. Would the discussion upset me if I were faking it? Of course.
