We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Republicans can win a Senate majority, take back the presidency, repeal Obamacare, build the Keystone pipeline, slash oppressive government regulations, end special tax deals and government contracts for the Democrats’ big donors, restore an honest IRS and nominate serious people to the federal bench.
But they’ll never do any of those things if they can’t learn that mass immigration from the Third World is wildly unpopular with voters.
The multi-cultis are bending over backwards to make sure we all embrace Islamic culture as equal to the West, but they can't name a single thing that culture has produced to benefit the world in the last few hundred years. Certainly, they would not consider oil to be one but it wouldn't matter because they wouldn't even have that if it weren't for the West discovering it and producing the technology to extract it. At the same time, the Islamic culture (not every individual - this shouldn't need to be said) has brought us suicide bombers, beheadings, child rapes, honor killings, misogyny, and intolerance of other religions and cultures.
All the negatives with none of the positives! If it weren't for modern technology (that was produced in the West) that has made the whole world more interconnected, they would be irrelevant.
To be fair, only the suicide bomber is a recent development in Muslim culture. Beheadings, child rape, honor killings, misogyny and intolerance are very old cultural tradition in Islam and Arab culture

We both missed that Islam is holding up the practice of slavery! Of course, no innovation there. It's been seriously out of favor in the West since the middle eighteen hundreds (it could be argued that the Declaration of Independence started the ball rolling) but Islamists have brought that old moldy oldie back.
If the GOP is "bordering on victory" it's because they are on the wrong side of the border. Again...not surprisingly.
WSJ had a story about a grim recent poll that indicates it may be going sideways for the Republicans, again. But not surprisingly; they pissed off their base, totally alienated the conservatives, unnecessarily went to war with the Tea Party and seem to be still following the theme of being Democrat-light, again.
Personally, I'll vote for the most conservative choice available to me. But tell Karl Rove and Scott Brown to stop wasting time and money stuffing my mailbox and filling up my answering machine with pleas for money (pleas hell, demands at this point). I don't trust them, or even like them very much. They are not fighting for me and I know it.

Hi John: I agree with your fundamental distrust of the GOP leadership. It is time for new and younger (50-65) crowd to take over the leadership of the GOP. If I hear any one of the GOP demanding a repeal of the abortion rights act I will vomit! It's not because of my moral thoughts on this subject. It is that this is the subject that has caused the GOP to be destroyed little by little over the past 40 years. Keep your damned noses out of my vagina and please try to save this country's overall strategies--i.e., military, economic, etc.!
As an example of stupid here is one: here in MT we have a former Navy Seal officer running for our one seat in the house. He has good leadership skills-been awarded and recognized many, many times for bravery, etc. HOWEVER here in MT where every single resident wants to preserve our natural beauty--does not want housing developments, is looking for jobs that do not disturb our environment--this guy stands up and says about the coal/electric, etc. "I want to do away with the EPA". Yup --that is sure gonna go over big here in MT! Stupid jerk. He should have said, "we need to examine the current situation around our natural resources and see how to make best possible use of them and to have the least damaging effect!" With regard housing developments--aww shucks bring em on in. Well let me tell you the speech writers are not doing this guy any favor. Nor are they doing me a favor when I have to sacrifice the party of choice for the least destructive candidate to what is nearest and dearest to my heart. Sheesh! Why the hell can't the GOP get decent speech writers?
We do need "to do away with the EPA". I applaud the honesty and the sentiment. If you are equating the EPA with preserving natural beauty then I have a bridge to sell you. The EPA sold out decades ago and is owned lock, stock and barrel by the socialist one-worlders. They are workng for the UN. What is truely sad though is they used to hide this more or less from the public but now they seem so close to their ultimate victory that they don't even hide it anymore. The EPA is just another one of the minions of the socialist/communist movement to destroy the middle class and America.
You missed my point--or, rather I did not make my argument clear: I want this guy to win--he will not win with this kind of rhetoric! We need much, much, much better speechwriters for the GOP candidates.
I hear what you are saying but the problem isn't his honesty but rather the media and other outlets of the left that have poisoned the information pool. Every clear thinking person would once they understand what EPA is really doing would vote to eliminate it. The problem is most of us are ignorant of what the EPA does and what the DOJ does or the Dept of Education or many of our federal departments. They do so much harm to our country and our citizens that we would all be better off if they just took the money and did nothing. So maybe it's true that this guy can't win calling for the end of the EPA but he should.
It breaks my heart--you are right GTW--but, it still breaks my heart. He is not going to win and the liberal castrato they are going to put in there is not even from MT! One of the many "obedient ones" that they put in place to do their political work.
I still think the GOP needs much better speech writers!
