Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Don't know what they intended with that rock pile. I do know that it has to be "commanding" heights. But I see a position that would not fair well under an artillery barrage.

Well, "famine" as they call it is a product of government policy. Except for the most destitute, who have nothing to exchange, in absence of government food prices would rise and additional supplies would be sent to the area. So really the foodies are embracing "Socialism" food.

And I'll be more interested when they start taking the time and effort to prepare Polk Salad. Eating a weed off the side of the road, that has to be par boiled several times so it won't be poison is a very special kind of "poor man's" treat.

I still regret not pursuing my idea back in the '90s when the first tank brigades were brought back from Germany. I thought we should have them encircle DC at the Beltway, cut off communications out of the hell hole and let the country get on with prosperity.

This is more about power for the hysterical critics of the NFL then it is about anything the NFL did/does. They all want their 15 minutes of fame in front of the camera and for the loony left what is better then to attack an all male organization like the NFL. This isn't about domestic violence or child abuse or even about dog fighting. It is about agenda and power for the activists who are extorting the NFL. Should the NFL be taking the place of the justice system? Of course not just as colleges shouldn't be investigatin and punishing sex crimes. How did we get to this place in a constitional government? Where in the constitution does it say that justice should be meted out by colleges and sports organizations? The NFL is indeed free to hire or fire whomever they want for whatever legal reason they choose but should they be deciding justice? And even if they were to decide criminal cases shouldn't the punishment follow a trial not occur instead of a trial? I do understand that the NFL is over a barrel and all the liberal rent seekers in the world are lined up to take advantage of their positon but why are we all quiet about it? Should we destroy the NFL just so some radical nutcases can get their faces on TV or so some pundits can further their reputation as being on the right side of social issues? Who will the enforcers of only true orthodoxy attack next?

Any male who beats down a woman or leaves stripes on a kid deserves the excrement storm, including the contractual penalties in the standard players contract allowed under the NFL's collective bargaining agreement with the players union:
