Maggie's Farm is Open For Business

Word of mouth, so to speak, is our only marketing. We do this for you! And for fun. A growing readership is our only reward...thus far, anyway. Still waiting for that $1 million past-due check from Dunkin Donuts to pay off my Ferrari loan. "It's in the mail." Sheesh, they still make me pay for coffee.

A note to lurkers: Don't be shy. We enjoy comments, however ornery or cranky. Flattery? Man, we do love it when we get it.

A note to curious readers: No, we are not all in jail (yet)

A note to other bloggers/website maestros: We do like links, but we will not beg - other than this. When people find us, they tend to like us. Or not. We are working on the Chinese markets! Global! However, China has blocked our site. Timid wimps with an army, but we do tend towards the anti-authoritarian. That's The American Way.

Why isn't Gwynnie posting more pix of Theo's friends? That alone should add readers/viewers.

I've been reading you all regularly for a couple of years. I'm wondering-- How do you all know each other? How did you get up the idea of your blog? Did you go to college together, or live in the same area (besides just New England)?

Just curious.

I've been lurking and dropping a few lines every now and then. MF is a good place to hang out. It's a feeling of camaraderie to know that BD drives a letter series Farmall tractor, but I don't know about that Yankee-minded stuff.

Long time appreciative reader and lurker extraordinaire. I do often share your posts on Facebook with appropriate credit. You should consider a presence on Facebook. Sorry I'm not one to comment but I do enjoy the curated daily links and other contributions. Not sure why the need for anonymity however.

Just moved to Brewster . First chess move in my plan to abandon the corporate bullshit while I set up my little business up here . You know any dudes that teach clamming ?
Hit a jay on the flats tonite while admiring the view and it looks like prime territory for some hogs .

I drop by for a daily dose of sanity. There aren't many sites like Maggie's where intelligent people engage in civil discourse. And the topics aren't always serious; they are often off beat and entertaining.

Do you know if Doc Mercury is still with us? He was once one of you at the Farm and I miss him. I asked last year and got blown off.

I miss Doc too - he and I had a blast here. If it makes you feel any better, Doc's last email to me was more of a "I've got issues to take care of which come first" - I respect that.

He'll be back when he can get back.

Not that we ever closed, but it's just time for our biennial request that you let your friends, enemies, neighbors, colleagues, relatives, etc. know about our eclectic, somewhat Libertarian and old-style Yankee-minded, often surprising and occasionally informative middlebrow cozy boutique website.

There is a country song somewhere in that description I swear.

Now that my life has settled down a little, I can do some more commenting, but I've always lurked - this is the best parking spot in the blogosphere.
