"White privilage"

I have to admit I was suprised when Megyn Kelly came out supporting the white privilage meme. She is usually pretty sharp and can see through the BS. I chalk this up to the tendency all of the media has to avoid saying the wrong thing when it comes to race, gender or sexual preference issues. She is safe bemoaning the fact that 4 times as many black children are born into poverty then white children and pointing out the obvious reasons for it will only get her into trouble. Regarding children born into poverty I have often wondered why in a society where birth control is available everywhere that someone chooses to have a child when they don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of. Are they stupid/ignorant or is it all about the welfare? But there are at least two things wrong with that statistic about black children being born into poverty. First I will assume that in order to achieve the startling number of 4 times as many black children born into poverty they are using a per population calculation. That is if the number of children born into poverty for blacks is exactly the same as the number for whites well then since there are 4 times as many whites then the percentage of children per capita is four times greater for blacks. So while true it is still deceiving. Kind of like when the weather channel wants tomake it look colder then it realy is in the winter they put put the wind chill temperatures rather then the actual temperatures. It makes North Dakota look pretty cold and makes a better story. The second problem I have with the statement that 4 times as many blacks are born into poverty then whites is that in all of these statistics they ignore any welfare. So if the mother is getting $40,000 in cash and benefits but has no job and no earned income then they attribute her status as zero income or poverty. Yet in fact she may be living in a three bedroom apartment with plenty of food, cell phone, air conditioning, two big color TVs, a car, vacations and partys until 3am every Friday and Saturday at the local clubs. Yet statistically she is in poverty. This is also not too different then the weather channel displaying ficticious temperatures because they look dramatic and make for good TV. It has gotten to the point where you cannot trust any statistical data at all because the raw data is massaged probably multiple times be request of various special interest groups with the intent of arriving at the desired results. What could possibly be worse for the race pimps and NAACP then honest and accurate reporting of the facts and logical conclusions based on those facts?

"The problem is that you have said that for the last three to four years - and been (or at least looked) wrong over the last three to four years."

This is true. All or most all of the indicators and prognosticators are pointing at the cliff but the stock market continues to break record after record. I think it is as simple as this: with all the Western economies in a slow collapse there is a flight of money to the safest place. And as bad as our own economy is and as bad as our policies are our stock market is the safest place to put yur money AND make a profit. You could put it in gold but gold is now in a holding pattern waiting for the elusive big one. It would be ironic indeed if the terrible ecomomies and the terrible polices of the rest of the free world saved our Keynesian Kenyan's sorry ass.
