Cool book. Gwynnie made me read it because I had forgotten the Danish Viking kings of England - the Canutes etc.
My favorite - George lll. A good fellow, for sure. We demonized him here in the US during the Revolution, but he was just trying to pay his bills, like all of us. "Farmer George" they called him. Sadly, a victim of porphyria later in his life. Always interesting to see that the loss of the American colonies is just a footnote in Brit history.
Entertaining reading: Kings, Queens, Bones and Bastards: Who's Who in the English Monarchy from Egbert to Elizabeth ll.
