Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Well that's funny, I find Hillary deeply disturbing on so many levels.
And yes, I am a breeder, although I regret now that I didn't start younger so that I could have comfortably breed even more. We have breed two will grow up to be breeders but three or even four would have been even better. Cannibalism
here is a nuanced discussion of the ethics of cannibalism "Dear Sir,... As a naval officer I abhor the implication that the Royal Navy is a haven for cannibalism. It is well known that we have the problem relatively under control, and that it is the R.A.F. who now suffer the largest casualties in this area. ... Captain B.J. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/07/01/Ex-New-Mexico-Gov-Johnson-named-pot-company-CEO Breeder isn't new. There was a mostly female band by that name in the early 1990s. I always thought they took the name as a play against being though lesbians. I may have been wrong but it was the early '90s where I first heard the term and its meaning as someone who wasn't gay.
FWIW, I remember the breeder word from Swift's Modest Proposal, referring to Irish mothers. Also, remember it being used in a science fiction story or two to as derogatory for those made the old fashioned way instead by test tubes, cf. the ultimate obscenity in Brave New World, mother.
Over the Counter birth control ? Unintended consequences . No insurance company I know of pays for non-prescription drugs , so we go from Hobby Lobby's insurance not paying for some types of birth control to nobody's insurance paying for any type of birth control .
“Breeders” are those who have the audacity to have a baby, thereby unkindly reminding same-sex couples that they have no such ability ...: Well, they knew that when they became same-sex couples. I cuts them no (repeat NO) slack for being idiots and damned fools. Not to mention, without kids, SoshSecurity goes bust way sooner.
"Crushing Patriarchy": Could women form their own soccer leagues, build them up nationally, and internationally, and have their own World Cup matches? Why haven't they done this? Say! Where's the WNBA these days? "world cup erases women"
Well! I think quotas are in order. Of course we won't call it quotas we will come up with a new world order type name like affirmative action. It will start modestly with high ideals like equality and fighting against discrimination and end in court with corporation busting fines and payouts to the perennially agrieved and out right discrimination to those who by skin color or gender are not in the "protected" class. Followedquickly by more lawsuits argueing that the workplace is unfriendly because they use language we don't like and actually compete and identify those who do well which is unfair to those who are their becuase of affirmative action and can't be expected to excel. Finally the sport will die fromthe weight of the foolishness or move off shore where the natives aren't so stupid as to allow this foolishness. Re: Breeders
Something that I think is lost in the discussion of breeders and non breeders is that in order to be a breeder, you have to give yourself to someone else - maybe even more than you might for marriage, whereas non breeders are free to focus on themselves. Is it any wonder that the rise in dependency on government (everybody) has gone hand in hand with the decline in marriage and child bearing even to the extent of denigrating those who raise children "breeders". It's just another example of how in our "Great Society", independence, thrift, selflessness, and even generosity are negative traits rather than positive. and like a train comin down the tracks
"here that train a comin . . " Now the only question is how much of my tax dollars will she use to run her campaign. We were so blessed to have an interview with this monster on PBS. Nearly 14 minutes of primetime tv given away for "an interview". Clearly, it was a great deal for this gal to begin her hopefully final journey. But, what I caught and thought was interesting happens somewhere between 4 and 6 minutes. I couldn't stand to watch it after that, but during those few minutes notice how quickly, how adroitly, how adept she was at putting MS Colored Woman back in her place--this interviewee know how to use/abuse power--but that subtle skill is very clear between 4-6 minutes. Enjoy, or cower in your corners: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/hillary-clinton-talks-hard-choices-battle-scars/ They could see it coming but wouldn't believe it:
On the 2nd of July (1914), Saxony’s envoy in Berlin updated his superior on the diplomatic developments in Berlin. He reported that, according to the German Foreign Office, 100 years ago: On the 2nd of July (1914), Saxony’s envoy in Berlin updated his superior on the diplomatic developments in Berlin. He reported that, according to the German Foreign Office, “…a war between Austria-Hungary and Serbia will consequently be avoided. Should it break out nonetheless, Bulgaria would immediately declare war on Greece…Russia would mobilize and world war could no longer be prevented. There is renewed pressure from the military for allowing things to drift towards war while Russia is still unprepared, but I don’t think that His Majesty the Kaiser will allow himself to be induced to do this.”[ those girls would do a better job cooking if they turned on the grill.
In my experience, breeder certainly is a put-down by the terminally chic LGBT-treehugger-whatever crowd. As a major league breeder, I've observed that the lives of the selfish and childless always fade to black, usually decades before the corpses cool off, but the lives of family members light up everyone, now and long past death . Justify the sacrifices your ancestors made for you - invest their genes into some younger people and send them on into the future!
