Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Regardless of its authenticity, it projects a powerful symbol, on many levels, for which the men buried there died.

That's not a good sentence above, I know. But there are some few things that defy mere words.

sobering as all to walk amongst the white marble of Arlington.
Wife's grandfather is interned there, and the ceremony was brief, and appreciated - those Old Guard guys are VERY professional.

I like to watch eagles too, but don't get too sentimental about them. I watched one steal a fish from an Osprey today, and in winter, they'd rather eat carrion than fish.
