We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
old Niccolo himself was quoted on your blog
as saying (paraphrased):
"the world consists of tortured egos desperate to be loved."
i recall questioning the quote,
since Freud's psychoanalyitc work
wasn't available when old Nick was
writing his manifestoes.
and yet,Niccolo agrees:
the "tortured egos" imagine Love
to be something they lack,
and "need to get".
methinks that fellow from Nazareth may be
more misunderstood than i'd previously imagined.
i found the original NM quote posted on Maggie's Farm:
"The distinction between children and adults, while probably useful for some purposes, is at bottom a specious one, I feel. There are only individual egos, crazy for love."
