Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

These people weren't raised right. In fact, it doesn't seem as if they were raised at all. A damn shame. Barbarians in our midst. However, I would not generalize his experiences of black criminals to black Americans in general. There are plenty of dysfunctional, ignorant low-lifes out there of all skin colors, and the government makes life relatively easy for them to make useless, effortless, unconstructive lives. Very interesting read. So sad these observations cannot be said under this man's real name for fear of being called 'racist.' How can you help black people if you don't face the reality of the situation?
I also read a story written by someone in the education system not too long ago about the differences between black students and white students. Black students (in general) were loud and disruptive...yelling at the teacher, each other, etc. Without listening or paying attention. Just shouting. How do you possibly change this behavior? And how can you teach in a raucous classroom full of shouters? It would drive me batty. I wish some black leaders in the country would be honest about the black community, its problems and help to find some solutions. They are really the only ones that can affect change. Instead, blame continues to be put on others... MissT. I think there is too much money for the so-called black leaders to make by keeping the black race down here in America.
I contend that LBJ and his War on Poverty started the decline of the black family and we are now reaping the whirlwind. I think it will not improve until families get reestablished and morality improves. Some say that "white morality" is not right for the ghetto and my response is poppycock. Moral behavior is a common standard world wide. Why not? You don't know enough of these people?
You don't live in a large urban area? You're afraid of them? He's talking about a subset of America. He absolutely nailed these people. He's not dealing with all of them. He's talking about the horrible bunch he runs into. Yeah, that was limiting and sounds like your point but I think that defines the vast majority. Why don't I just check my privilege and pretend race doesn't matter. I don't think race matters.
Blacks are much more likely to be on one of the many doles. They see no reason to get married or get a job because the government will take care of their needs (and quite a few luxuries). They have black "leaders" who tell them that regardless of what they do, they are not to blame. For example, a few years ago, a group of black teens rampaged through the stands at a high school football game. Jesse Jackson swooped in to defend those accused of the mayhem as innocent victims of racism. When he saw a video that showed that they actually did do it, he still defended them. Then there are a large group of bleeding hearts, anarchists, leftists, and other idiots who also refuse to blame them for anything (just as the lawyer tries to do in court with his defense that the defendant grew up without a father). In addition to that, there are influences that don't go directly to the lawyer's clients but does go to influence the black subculture in general where the society treats blacks (and other minorities) differently from others; see affirmative action and the lawyer's experience with the press. I contend that any group or race that is treated this way will eventually display behavior the lawyer saw in blacks. Interesting quote:
QUOTE: My experience has taught me that we live in a nation in which a jury is more likely to convict a black defendant who has committed a crime against a white. Even the dullest of blacks know this. There would be a lot more black-on-white crime if this were not the case. It really is terrible seeing progressive policies destroy people. That it's intentional makes it all the more evil.
Thanks for posting NJ. An interesting read. Some of his experience mirrors my own.
While I will admit that not every Black Man is a member of a criminal drug distribution ring, I still would not let my daughter date a white man.
Given the typos present when I read the article, I think it is a fake. A “Go Ask Alice” for AmRen.
When I was in (a white-minority) high school I was visited by the amigos to tell me not to date their women; was told by one girl I could not be seen near her house because her father wouldn’t let her date whites; and was told to my face by one girl she wouldn’t go out with me because I was white. Such is reality. "Given the typos present when I read the article, I think it is a fake. A “Go Ask Alice” for AmRen."
Finally, another skeptic. I won't go so far as to say it's an outright fake, but I will ask why I, or anyone, should take it seriously considering the place it was published and the lack of any verifiable details. Given the typos present when I read the article, I think it is a fake. A “Go Ask Alice” for AmRen.
I ran the article through MS spell check. All but one of the spelling errors/typos were attempts to quote dialect. Following is the only non-dialect spelling error/typo. QUOTE: The Constitution allows a defendant to make three crucial decisions in his case. He decides whether to plea guilty or not guilty. The article may or may not be a fake, but not on the basis of the number of typos or spelling errors. In reality, the defendant has the option of deferring the ultimate decision by any number or ordinary procedural methods. Apart from formal options like delayed entry of judgment/deferral programs, any practicing defense counsel know why delay is a good thing. I'm sure the author hasn't a clue.
I covered criminal trials for newspapers in rural Texas counties. 95+ percent of defendants were white. 90+ percent were found guilty.
I don't believe the guy is a public defender or an attorney. He's a guy who read the Star Trek Technical Manual and thinks he's an astronaut.
QUOTE: As a young lawyer, I believed the official story that blacks are law abiding, intelligent, family-oriented people, but are so poor they must turn to crime to survive. Actual black behavior was a shock to me. Who ever told you that was an official story? This statement is so bizarre its got to be a set up. QUOTE: Most whites with business in court arrive quietly, dress appropriately, and keep their heads down. They get in and get out–if they can–as fast as they can. For blacks, the courthouse is like a carnival. that's the first of many, many time the author resorts to labels. blacks do this, whites do that. my experience in major urban criminal courts is that the initial appearance departments -- arraignments, etc., are carnivals for everyone. QUOTE: A black man will never call me Mr. Smith; I am always “Mike.” It is not unusual for a 19-year-old black to refer to me as “dog.” Well, dog, its because you let them. QUOTE: Also, everything I say to blacks must be at about the third-grade level. If I slip and use adult language, they get angry because they think I am flaunting my superiority. So you use third grade language to describe their legal problems because you're afraid of what they might think about you? Are you out of your mind??? QUOTE: Blacks are unable to understand that I do not yet have answers to all of their questions, but that I will by a certain date. ... ... Unlike people of other races... ...but blacks ask questions to test me.... ...Most blacks are unable to speak English well. They cannot conjugate verbs. They have a poor grasp of verb tenses. They have a limited vocabulary. They cannot speak without swearing. ... what the fuck???? seriously, what the fuck?????? QUOTE: Prosecutors are delighted when a black defendant takes the stand. look, Perry Mason, prosecutors are delighted when any defendant takes the stand. did you ever think of having them make an unsworn statement that can't be cross-examined? Or just keeping them off the stand in the first place? this isn't difficult. QUOTE: When blacks ask the ultimate question—”Will we win at trial?”—I tell them I cannot know, What do you tell whites when they ask that question? QUOTE: This inability to see things from someone else’s perspective helps explain why there are so many black criminals. It actually explains (1) why there are any criminals, and (2) it explains you. I could go on cherrypicking this asshat's blather, but I'm just going attend his next Klan meeting instead. I am certainly not a lawyer and I do not claim to have anything near first hand experience that the author claims, but I am not surprised by his description of his black clients and what they do. Some of this is from the actions of black "leaders". If they claim the things they do, why wouldn't black criminals try it, too? Also it is not a secret that many (not all) black students in high school are not interested in learning and that they view it as a "white" activity so they are dismissive of any effort to show the value of learning.
But an experience my wife had makes the author's claim seem very reasonable. She volunteered to proctor a test at a local high school. It turns out it was a "special needs" class but the actions of some of the black kids could not be answered by a learning disability, and we have experience with special needs kids - I (and she) would say it was part of a plan. A group of the black kids did not have a pencil, would not write their names and date on the test, took frequent breaks to the bathroom and water fountain, and were generally disruptive. Some of the other kids complained (some of them were black), but those disruptive kids continued their disrespectful and disruptive behavior. In the end most of the disruptive kids essentially handed in blank test. This was not limited to special needs classes, though it may have been more common there, but was to some extent throughout the school. It would not surprise me to find out that that by now, some of those same kids would find themselves in legal trouble. Should the school have handled these boys differently? Of course, but they didn't. I suspect they are treated a bit more severely in the school my wife visited than they are treated in inner city schools - but that is the point, isn't it? If you get away with crap all your life, don't you expect to continue getting away with it? I don't know if the author was actually a real public defender. Maybe he is like one of the leftist authors who won literary awards for writing fiction that they claimed to be fact. Is his characterization reasonable? I think it is. It doesn't mean that every black acts like that or that every black is a criminal-in-waiting, but it seems obvious to me that there is a sizable section of the "black culture" that has little respect for any authority and there is a sizable section of the population (not just blacks) that is in agreement because it's not their fault don't you know, their ancestors were slaves, they never new how to have a family, they didn't have a family, the society is out to get them, the people with "white privilege" don't even know how racist they are, and any number of other excuses. Everybody makes excuses for these people but very few are willing to hold them accountable for their own choices and lives. We can quibble about typos, what the author should have done - if he was in fact a public defender, and accuse him of racism, but that misses the point. But maybe that's the idea... The negative reaction here is much the same as the True Believers who attack global warming skeptics. Their credibility is attacked (can't be a lawyer) and they are deemed racist (measure for Klan robes).
It illustrates how deeply the PC narrative is embedded in our culture. Once again it shows if you hold a negative view of any aspect of black culture/behavior it means you must be a racist. No wonder there can't be a rational discussion of race in this country. I am sorry to see this type of thinking at MF. I always thought our commenters were in a higher league. don't feel so bad about yourself. its an easy mistake to make, someone who sounds like he's someone, saying exactly what you want to believe anyway, it could happen to anyone without a skeptical mind.
