We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Actually he is wrong. Essentially he wants to turn SS into a welfare program. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need". If that is now the definition of being "right" for a conservative then we are in big trouble. The SS system has already been bastardized by politicians to the point where it is now in trouble. Increasing payments far beyond what an individual's contributions justify is the major problem with SS. Adding millions of people to the system who did not contribute their 40 quarters is another problem. If they had run the system as it was intended and used standard accounting procedures to determine payout the system would remain solvent forever. But NOOOO! They have to use it as a payola for votes program to benefit the encumbunts. Rubio is being sucked into this by his devious Democrat colleagues. We should be eliminating and reducing welfare programs not creating more of them.
