We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
It doesn't make sense to me that feminists would hate this woman. If the hateful feminists were real activists, they'd be appalled by the FGM and honor killings taking place. But instead you hear crap about letting the FGM continue because it's part of a religion and people should have freedom of religion (unless of course you believe in Jesus Christ as Lord).
In Netherlands, she found work as an Somali-Dutch interpreter working with recent immigrants, she speaks Somali, Arabic, Swahili, Amharic.
Raised in a mud hut, VERY remarkable. She has all my respect.

I like the courage that it took her to say this to a crowd that didn't really want to hear it. It is courage to tell an inconvenient truth, but I expect that of her, given her courage in breaking with Islam already.
I am not holding my breath that she will be received as she should by a chastized group of femanists. That is too much to hope for. If that ever happened, then feminists in America might actually start to rail against the hip-hop culture which perpetrates mysogeny at a breathtaking pace.
