We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
as long as they pay tuition fees, pay for their books written by their teachers in the college store, pay for the mandatory purchase course papers, pay exam fees, pay membership in the student organisations that pay the college per member for use of college resource, they turn a profit for the college so are "valued customers"...
The problem is these anarchists are backed by the Obama administration, and, as noted by the article, face a lawsuit from the Justice Department if it tries to do something rational (like expel these folks).
Extorting college administrators worked in the 1960s. Why wouldn't it work now? Especially since some of those occupying students back then are college administrators.
Another impetus behind the extortion is that because it is so hard to get into the Ivy League, many students there have the opinion that they are God's gift to the world. If they want it, it has to be right.
