We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
But the electrical fire or other accident does not explain how a new code was entered to change the direction of the plane. Without any communication afterward to indicate the reason for the change of course. If a pilot were in distress and needed to make that change, why wouldn't he communicate it to someone?
No, I think the dry run had no interest in keeping the plane. They likely wanted to see how far it could be tracked, at low altitude, with no tracking devices turned on and no communication.
Fly as long as you can, see what happens, who catches you, who eventually finds you.
We now know the US was tracking the plane from other devices implanted in the plane itself - something which most people were unaware was ever being done.
The world is becoming a better place for the "gifted" child to find the knowledge to feed their hunger. Really, now, the only obstacle is the mind-numbing school day that includes so little even mediocre instruction. (reportedly perhaps 2 hours out of the 7) Then the gifted student is further interfered with by the assignment of so much busy homework. And let us not forget the continuation of techniques long superseded by technological advancement. Notecards, really, that is so 1970s.
Brain scans, another factor could be that many docs are now employed by those who have shiny idle scanners. Then there's the problem taking a detailed history, physical and assessment takes time, the waiting room is overflowing, etc.
While Obama can be faulted for his delay in imposing sanctions, not sure what else he could be doing for the Ukraine. Do we have any vital American interests to protect there? Are those worth boys (and girls) in a box?
