Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Jersey’s Un-Super Bowl


The state’s taxpayers got little but grief and debt out of its sports “empire.”


Cui bono?

- Missouri is the "Show me state". NJ is the "What else you got?" state.


- The New Jersey state motto - "You Want a #$@%#! Motto? I Got Yer #$@%#! Motto Right Here!"


Truth is, NJ has some wonderful parts and some not.

There are a lot of beautiful and interesting places in New Jersey, you just can't see them from I-95.

I was born and raised in that state, and I'd live there again if it wasn't so damned expensive, and politically messed up.

You know it is a bad business/financial deal when a private business seeks govt. bonds or loans to finance their efforts. The taxpayer is not buying a return on investment. The taxpayer is buying entertainment, maybe jobs, maybe school funding. Govt. financing of private efforts should not be allowed.

It's not the state, it's the people. In many areas it is the "Garden" state but its inhabitants destroyed much of what was good.
