We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I love the old style wooden boats When I was young in Nova Scotia, My dad had a Mahone bay mahogany runabout, a 30ft. lobster fishing boat, a chestnut canoe, and a sailboat which I don't remember well as I was so young... Maritime weather being what it was, most of them came to a hard end... But the memories, the smells on a hot day.
Love the Shields, I was seriously going to buy one last year after my Cape Dory was lost in Sandy. The lack of a head with three women in my family nixed the plan.
I love those things!! The 30s. When I lived in NYC I had some cousins who had a place up in Connecticut. Somebody they knew had one of those and they had free license to sail it. Lots of fun.
