We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Thanks for posting the lectionary text. I wonder if you know about the lectionary expansion proposals discussed in the October 30, 2013 issue of The Christian Century, of which mine is one: Year D: A Quadrennial Supplement to the Revised Common Lectionary. At present only a quarter of the Bible is touched by the RCL, but Year D adds a number of vital texts (more than one can treat in a single pass) and arranges them in an orderly schedule with lot of additional options. Please spread the word, esp. among pastors and interested lay leaders. Thanks, and God bless you this Advent, Christmas, and always.
