We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Reminds me of my son when he was three or four. Every time he got into trouble he would say, "A big boy made me do it." or, "A big boy pushed me.", or "A big boy [whatever fit the occasion]". And like B., he said it a lot because he was in trouble a lot.
In other words, Barry is telling us the only time he succeeds is when he's handed a perfect situation by someone else. In the real world, not make believe Barry World, when a company hires a CEO to lead it, that person is expected to be Mr. Fixit: if something in the company is busted, he's expected to correct it. To use a sports analogy that even Barry could understand, when a basketball team hires a coach, if there's a problem with certain players, the coach is expected to fix the situation, not offer excuses. If the team doesn't make the playoffs, it's good bye, good luck, been nice knowin' yah. If there's a government agency that's out-dated or disorganized and makes the President's job difficult, as he claims, why hasn't he offered legislation to Congress to deal with the problem that would leave HIS successor a better situation than he was left by his predecessor? Barry is certainly mighty good at talking the talk, but not at walking the walk.
We are not the government. We are the People. The government is the hired help. And the manager of that hired help has just stated that overseeing the operation is beyond his capacity. It's not his fault he's incompetent.
It's not his fault his hand selected executive staff are incompetent. They went to the right schools, held the right views, said the right things. It is just to much to ask that they be able to actually produce something of use to others. That's so very manual.
