Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

3. And we received a comment from a site called Mondoweiss asking that we never link their stories again. We linked the report on Chucky Shumer. I checked their website, where they say  "To publish a diversity of voices to promote dialogue on these important issues."  Hmmm.

I thought it was interesting that Mondoweiss listed their fourth aim as:

To offer alternatives to pro-Zionist ideology as a basis for American Jewish identity. (I'm not exactly sure what that means, but...)

They also have a section under their "Israel/Palestine" heading called "Occupation" which has an article entitled "Israel approves 829 new settlement units near Jerusalem", "Real estate, racism, and righteousness — a grim visit to Israel", and "Why Israel wanted Arafat dead". I didn't see an article on why Arafat wanted Israelis dead.

It's pretty clear what their editorial viewpoint is.

C'mon, they're progressives. Everyone knows they're lying about respecting diversity of opinion.

Everything from center-left to far-left, with an occasional really wild unclassifiable, interspersed with any old Talmudic or Hasidic quote they can torture into supporting their views.

C'mon people, that's what diversity means. I shouldn't have to keep explaining this to you.
