We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Wow - its utterly amazing how this LAW is so critical, but when its enacted, and the mayhem it causes, well, we just gotta delay it, 'cause were getting our a$$es handed to us!
Please, PLEASE!! Stop me from trying to kill myself /sarc
If there was any logic and reason in the GOP - I'd just let it lay, counterman ALL the exceptions, and let the chips fall. Its good to see all this covert Socialism take its normal course (opposite to all the 'it'll work this TIME' platitudes), despite all of DC's enablers....
Its Prez. Pinocchio's - let him face the flames as he fiddles.....
The reason for instituting the delay is not only because of the expected increase in premiums next year but mainly to postpone the devastating tsunami of bad news that will arrive with the cancellations of the policies of tens of millions of Americans during the next open enrollment period. So far, such bad news is limited to a few million people in the individual insurance market. In the next round, an order of magnitude more people who are currently group insured will get their cancellation notices, and that's something President Liar will not be able to blame on the racism of Republicans.
this delay is just admitting that the next phase will be worse than bad news and awful impacts on people and families. Most likely the economic impact will be a depression or collapse. Forget about being able to afford insurance, food maybe hard to buy.
Of course it is a cheap political trick to allow Democrats to hold onto the Senate. Anyone can see that Obamacare is a stinking pile of crap AND that this cheap trick is a ploy to fool the voters into a position where it will be force fed to them. It is nothing more then another opportunity for the naïve and uninformed voters of this country to get the government they deserve. Let's see what they do with this opportunity. I am betting that like Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown once again that the voters will not throw the bums out but reward them for promising more "free stuff".
