We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Government is, for some reason, exempt from fraud claims. Works nicely for our moral and intellectual superiors in Washington to be insulated from their consequences. A good gig for glib low-lifes.
Consumer fraud you say? More like a crime against humanity (at least U.S. humanity). If this was the private sector: a) the CEO, COO, CFO, CIO and CTO would long ago have been unceremoniously canned and likely facing jail time; b) the all-knowing Federal Government would be levying multitudinous fines; and, c) the resolute U.S. Congress would be holding innumerable hearings and legislating away to assure it never happened again.
