Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

It's not 'global cooling' and it's not 'global warming' it's much much worse than those things alone, it is 'global climate change' and it must be stopped at all costs and regardless of how filthy rich Al Bore becomes as a result.

About global cooling: I remember, maybe in the 70s, reading a satirical article in Analog SF magazine, about weather cycles and how we were due for another ice age. The author urged all to pollute the air as much as possible to keep the earth warm.

That was Robert Heinlein and he wasn't being satirical. He suggested that the mini-ice age in Medieval Times was mitigated by humans burning as much wood in the fireplace as possible.

I woke up this morning to only 36 degrees in the Fl panhandle, and only 50 or so degrees. Had to put the top down on the convertible. Darn. Now to get and chop some wood for the fireplace....
