We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
It could be a Maggie's theme song. I thought the lines that followed were "I love the girls and the girls love me." My Mom used to sing it as "I like the boys and the boys like me."
Recall that song from one of my parent's albums- though it was a newer, faster version. A classmate of mine, who originated from Stratford CT, once claimed that someone in his family had known one of the Ink Spots growing up in CT. I never checked out that claim, but it turns out that one of Ink Spots was born in New Haven, not far from Stratford, so who knows.
