Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Why clowns scare people

It tells a bit about Grimaldi, the great clown. I have noticed that it's not just kids. Dogs are afraid of clowns too.

I was never afraid of clowns. Liked them well enough when I was a kid. Never understood the fear. And Bozo's popularity (and Flippo in Columbus) would indicate that kids do like clowns.

I will add that Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a very fun movie, and definitely worth watching.

Never afraid of them but I did warn my kids when they were young to stay away from them. John Wayne Gacy was a part time clown. The grade school janitor was a part time clown where I grew up and was a perv.

I know that the Shriners have clowns and they help kids in the burn hospitals and crippled kids hospitals. A great service by a fraternal organization that provides a million dollars a day for charitable work. I am a Freemason and I suggest a look at these Brothers and their hospitals.
