We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
A male who "feels" like a woman or a woman who "feels" like a man does not make that a reality. There is a genetic definition that is pretty clear cut. This is just another case of taking something that is almost always black and white and turning it into a social issue which is to say a political issue.
To be more accurate, they should refer to their desire to be the other sex rather than "being trapped in the wrong body".
I was very disappointed to hear this. I consider 'Dawn' to be a much more beautiful name. Dawn symbolizes beauty and invigoration and the freshness of the brand new day. "Don" means the head of a Mafia clan. Obviously no comparison between the two. Don't these people even think these decisions through??
in the words of Pogo, "We have met the enemy, he is us" when it comes to busybody politics. Everybody finds something annoying they want a law to ban. Whether its a neighbor with a junk car in the yard to everyone needs a light rail station within two blocks.
TSA is expanding their public molestations to train stations and sporting events. I'd rather not have such activities two blocks from my house. Not likely for me though, i live a piece from the terrible suburban towns that have destroyed the Democratic urban machine dream.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take the money I saved up for a Chevy Volt and go by an F-1500 Earth F'er so I can haul some plywood and a couple bags of cement.
You have heard me rant before about the small group of families in Seattle that have inherited and wield such great power. They are the owners of Weyerheuser, USBank, Boeing, Microsoft,UPS, Costco, Nordstrom, AMAZON. Even the University of Washington benefits from their political clout--it is the largest recipient of Federal Government research funds in the nation--no other school receives as much money as the UW in federal funds for "reserach".
You will of course have read that Mr. Nice Guy Brazos has purchased for his own enjoyment the WA Post. Though Mr. Brazos does not on the surface appear to be linked to any of the old families in Seattle--Amazon.com is certainly a member of that tight little group. You will note in his wikipedia entry that Mr. Brazos donated 2.5 million to guarantee the passage of the gay marriage act in WA state. Just think how much fun these folks will have with the Post! For ninety years now the communist/socialist sons and daughters of these great corporations have been dedicated to the very next liberal "it" issue.
Here is an interesting link to the board of directors at Amazon. you can click on each name and get some background--doesn't tell you much--but, might lead you to an understanding.
