Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

The pix of Revolutionary War fighters were fantastic. But why was this in a British newspaper?
Because the state of Massachusetts spent the day confiscating the firearms of law abiding citizens.
No doubt General Thomas Gage is finding it all very amusing. --well, the word 'revolution' has a large handful of applications, one of which is 'goes around in circles' --
Like the wheels on a bus which go round and round...
Yall and buddy got it wrong.
Tevolution makes A circle.

Ah, super-size. More calories for less money. Some call it an abomination, others, like Egyptians today, call it survival.
Long ago, one of those morons from Georgetown University made the news with his complaint against McDonald's for their food being---to tasty, to cheap, and to convenient. it occurred to me, that we sent wheat and rice to people starving in Africa but what we really needed to do was send them some McDonald's. Perhaps with Walmart's logistic support. Or maybe just open up a subsidized Walmart in the starving regions. What we know doesn't work is giving money to governments or "relief" organizations. Of course, the FBI is slow walking the IRS investigation. They pay taxes just like everyone else. And they know anyone who associates with the Tea Party gets STI (sudden tax issues).
Think Dept, of Justice Dept. aka the Black Panthers and the bruhaha in Philly (no evidence of intimidation), Fast\Furrious (ongoing, looking for evidence), IRS\Tea Party ("Really? first we've heard of it...")
Its amazing - in Governance, you get promoted for crappy work, in the 'real' world, you'd be either fired or demoted... The Slate post sort of makes fun of those of us that think the H-1B visa program is being abused. Which sort of makes me angry.
There is no shortage of STEM workers. There are only companies trying to reduce their costs. I just put up a post on my site, if anyone is interested. If you are further interested, you can put this string into the google search bar: H-1B+visa+scam site:whiterockkitchens.com. New Great Awaking; USA was a Christian nation as founded but
Union worship turned it anti-Christ. “We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation.” President Barack Hussein Obama on Monday 06 April 2009, as he spoke in Ankara, Turkey. Yall surrendered to Islam and honor a Muslim sharif as yall's President. "Lookit all them howlin' savages," said the Lone Ranger from behind a rock as the war party rode down on them, "...what're we gonna DO?"
"What do you mean 'we'?" replied Tonto. It's "what do you mean we, paleface?"
Or alternatively "what do you mean we white man" On a related note, I was listening to the OM mantra on Youtube a little while ago and I just closed my eyes for a minute - until I woke up an hour later when the phone rang. It's very relaxing - I highly recommend it. By golly, you're right --i blew the punchline. Now i HAVE to go listen to the Om Mantra.
Supersized: The HORROR! The horror...
US of Decay: Blue state model... Okie Bum Rush: No point waiting for the cops. "“We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation.” President Barack Hussein Obama on Monday 06 April 2009, as he spoke in Ankara, Turkey." Speak for yourself, half-black man. Due to the sequester?
The IRS takes Friday, July 5th off QUOTE: The Internal Revenue Service is reminding taxpayers that due to the current budget situation, including the sequester, the agency will be shut down on Friday, July 5. Magnanimously, those with July 5 response deadlines are given until Monday to respond. Can we make this furlough permanent? The Slate article left out a word:
The tech companies want more CHEAP tech workers... These are mostly companies that believe that 99.9 % of the value of the company reside in the top four or five people and that the rest of the workers are just useless crap. They see the problem as being a shortage of qualified people who will work for Jack in the Box wages. If they paid better, there would be many more candidates to choose from. The H-1B workers are in demand because they will work 80 hour weeks and dare not complain. The fields they work in fall outside the wage and hour laws in such a way that they are paid the same if they work 30 or 100 hours a week. When I worked in that field I often worked 48 hours without a break. American workers will speak up, demand better pay to do that kind of work or ask for more reasonable work schedules. The H-1B workers do not. There in a nutshell is the ONLY reason H-1B is necessary.
