Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

QUOTE: Joel B. Pollack: MSNBC: Gov. George Wallace Was a Republican There's a clip provided, but there doesn't seem to be a mention of Wallace being a Republican. Black studies at Howard University: http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2013/04/12/video-the-daily-show-guess-whos-coming-to-howard/ Guess this tweet by MSNBC's Chris Hayes, was done only to silence the baying hounds.
The Zero Hedge article is a goodie. Most of us are always one paycheck away from disaster. You can't see that "(R)" they put in front of Alabama in the clip showing Wallace speaking?
But it is not just the news media who try to obfuscate the rich Democrat history of racism. Our own government drones do so in their "studied" work reportedly providing history via the Library of Congress". To be fair, the LOC just leaves out the Wilson affiliation while highlighting the party of the next 3 administrations. So technically they didn't lie. They just couldn't handle the truth. Ah, but this is a fine example of what passes as scholarship in the Useless Arts. Pollack said Hayes "described", but we see it now. Thanks.
Hayes has apologized. JKB,
It appears that Z should spend more time looking 4 "R's" than wasting ours trolling @ MF's... TC There is no credible evidence that you know the first thing about Rev. King, or history, making that statement
Maybe Basil, unlike your worthless ass, actually knows something about MLK. From Wikipedia:
"As the leader of the SCLC, King maintained a policy of not publicly endorsing a U.S. political party or candidate: 'I feel someone must remain in the position of non-alignment, so that he can look objectively at both parties and be the conscience of both—not the servant or master of either.'" He was famous for not being aligned to either party. While he traditionally voted for the Democrat presidential candidate, he never officially endorsed one. I was getting a "spam message" when "worthless ass" was included, so I tried it again using my usual handle and it was still refused (tried it two or three times each way), so I removed "worthless ass" and it went right on through. Let's see if this one does. Maybe it's different if in quotes. Worthless ass? After making that "you don't know the first thing about..." comment to Basil? Smooth move, Ex-Lax.
And wasn't Lincoln a Whig? If you refer to the 'Know Nothing' party, it is probably a good idea to 'know something' about the reference.

Meself finds shades to be one of the greater advancements in arsenal of artifices.
However, though i wear them night and day, they have not diminished me interest in female specie. Aviator shades don't really cut the mustard so, me shop mine at welding supply. IMMIGRATION: What's REALLY going on here? What's the
REAL DEAL[/]? Time has come to speak of unspeakable things: What is the real deal being crafted behind the scenes? A percentage of total drug importation/production,i.e., you take a load off our backs we'll cut some of you 'eelected offecials' in on our drug income? Y'a think? Interesting that legalization of marijuana is coming on at the same time as immigration. "God I hate co-incidences--they make me twitch." Ok. So we all know that liberal whites want to reduce the impact on the earth of the human population. That white liberals have forced a reduction in white births. Soo, why haven't they addressed openly the issue of population control in Mexico? You know that is the real itchy place under their skin. Why don't they have the courage to do that? Well because then it would come in conflict with their "deels" along the border. You see if you really want to control population growth you do that by making the people of a nation work through that issue on their own: either tell the Catholic church they are wrong and send more bc pills, or let them starve themselves to death. Nope they ain't doing any of these things--they are dealing with Mexico's problem (overpopulation) by cutting a deal for a percentage of an increased drug trade to the US and by taking a bizzilion ignorant (undeducated) Mexicans off of their hands. How could we handle our concern, our desire to be nice to our fellow human beings in that too big population south of the border? If what we (the people) really cared about was being kind to an overburdened country here's a systemic way to deal with that: open hospitals that we own and operate in that area south of the border that I call "Clintonville"--you know the place where so many US corporations moved in order to produce products vis a vis NAFTA. Let's establish a zone on the Mexican side of the border. Half of all the money we give to that corrupt government we keep and we put it into that zone for hospitals, for schools, for increased agricultural production FOR THOSE PEOPLE! Now, we don't have to destroy our culture, we know how much money we are going to spend per Mexican and the money goes where it should go. Great idea? Of course it is, but there is that other thing that Clinton and Emmanuel, and Obama and the rest don't want to talk about the personal billions they will make off of cutting a deal with the drug kings of Mexico and getting drugs into this country legally! #@$ [b] WHEN? are we going to do the systemic logical thing to resolve this problem? When are we the people going to stand up and tell this bunch NO!? When are we going to speak openly about the real problem--when are we going to call it what it is Mexico's problem of overpopulation--there I said it. Call me a racist! http://www.bing.com/search?q=mexican+cartels+chicago&form=IE8SRC&src=IE-SearchBox

Dawnin' now, yall's dark humor suggests yankee anglophile sentiment holds mainland Europeans in some not so close esteem. Maybe not. Is June 14 still Flag Day?
I don't believe it has been mentioned at any of my regular stops. Re: Lawmakers rebel against being subject to Obamacare
I've seen similar articles before, but nowhere---especially in the linked article---have I seen an explanation of how someone quitting or retiring will help him avoid the various provisions of Obamacare. The Politico article includes the following statement: "Alabama Rep. Jo Bonner said the threat is already real, especially for veteran lawmakers and staff. If they leave this year, they think they can continue to be covered under the current health care plan." However, there's nothing in the rest of this long article to confirm that current employees who leave will, in fact, be able to keep the plush medical coverage they now have once they retire or quit. If what such people THINK is wrong, they'll end up being subject to Obamacare just like everyone else who stayed on. You'd think with the deadline for the insurance exchanges and the implementation of the law just a few months away there would not be any uncertainty with regard to this question. |
