In 1978, Presidio Jr. High School in San Francisco had a "volunteer" counselor who came into the school each week during a school day. She conducted a class for young girls (8th and 9th grades)in which she stated (promised) that, "if you should become pregnant--don't worry the state of California will give you money every month to help take care of your baby. AND, if your mother or father don't want you to have the baby, just let us know because the State of California will help you get your own apartment." Now, I know your first reaction will be the same as mine was: omg--what are these liberal hippies up to now? But, you would be wrong: the public school brought this woman in and co-ordinated their schedules so that she would have access to each young woman, because the woman was a "right to life" advocate from the neighboring church, who was helping these young girls to "feel good about themselves." ahhh--what wicked webs we weave . . .

Hate crime hoaxes occur on campuses because that is where the hate is taught. Students take classes in hate and get hate degrees in African/hispanic/ethnic/womens studies. For what purpose? Most of the curriculum is phony and outright lies and exaggerations. It is all focused at hating white's, European history and men. Who hires people who graduate with degrees in hate?? That has always stumped me. Why would you hire someone for any job who had a degree in women's studies or hispanic studies? Probably most of these graduates become public employees since there simply isn't a market for them in real life. Why do colleges even choose to put these hate studies programs into their degree programs? That is the question?

Unorganized Hancock: Mr. Sippi exploits his chillun for fame and (he hopes) their fortune. Dune good at it, too. Now that older one--sometimes he's twins, once he was triplets. Boy ain't quite natcheral, seems to me. Little one, now, I think he needs a hat to complete the look.

Ice caps: Warmists always pick on examples they can use to further their cause, and ignore those that dispute their arguments. There's a lot more globe with non-supporting data.

Hate crimes on campus: Why? Because they have primed themselves to believe in them.

Israel and Israelis: I do think a lot of people hate them because those people just can't stand their good example. (Body blows to their self-esteem.)

Couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone...too busy getting ready to fly out of DC for another fund raiser. What difference does it make (now)? Ask Ambassador Chris Stevens, Hillary. He has the "moral authority" to answer your question.

If the results of this screw-up hadn't ended up with such horrendous consequences for the victims of the WH and State Dept. incompetence, it could have made a biting telephone routine for Bob Newhart.

Williams College still won't fess up to the hate crime hoax (scrawling of tne "N" word in the hall of a dorm) that happened there in 2011. Whole college shut down for wailing and gnashing of teeth, imposition of ashes and sensitivity training, the FBI brought it to track down the evildoers, all those who entered and left the dorm during the time period interrogated (you have to have an electronic entry card to get in and out), but until today, not one single person revealed to be the hate crime mastermind.

Obama the Lame Duck: I tuned out President Short Pants quite a while ago, but every once in awhile something he is reported to have said is so dumb, it does get my attention.

For instance, during his state visit to Mexico, he has claimed that guns from the US fuel violent crime in Mexico. He says he will do everything in his power to stop the flow of weapons southward. Of course, he didn't happen to mention his administration's criminal role in walking guns across the border in the Fast and Furious program, which did contribute to deadly crime in Mexico, including quite a number of killings. Ooops.

The hard truth is that guns are not the cause of the violence in Mexico. The cause is the illegal drug trade. Gun deaths are a symptom of that country's violent drug war, a means to an end, which is control of the lucrative profits to be made from selling drugs in the US. And, the last I looked, the drugs that make such violence profitable are banned in the US. In fact they have been illegal for a very long time. The on-going war on drugs in the US makes the killings in Mexico (including the many gruesome beheadings of competing gang members) worthwhile. Yet all of this effort has failed miserably to stem the demand for drugs in our country. Ban something that people in the US can't get enough of, and you turn the Mexican drug cartel into extremely wealthy, violent criminals.

So think about it: If the ban on drugs in the US has not worked after all this time and effort and money expended in a losing cause, would a ban on guns work any better? Does anyone actually believe that? The violence in Mexico is not because of the guns; it is because of the drug trade. Even the Mexicans know that. They know it is the drug trade that has corrupted their government and brought ordinary Mexican citizens so much fear and misery to their lives. They should have laughed Obama out of town for his talk about guns, but I guess they were being polite to a guest in their country.

The linked article about oysters was far too simple. Oysters within a species will taste differently depending on the local waters, seasons, freshness, etc.

Apalachicola oysters maybe the same species as Blue Points from Long Island but they have so much more of that ahem feminine flavor, that one should be able to easily distinguish the source.
