We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
10th Ave in the lower 60s, on Friday: Italian deli on the far left corner, then French, then Caribbean, then Thai, then Turkish - then American! Like the Very Hungry Caterpillar, you could joyfully eat your way down the street. (The Irish pub is on the other side of the street.)
I've taken that stroll, looking for a place to dine after a daylong meeting in the city. A colleague, who lives in the 90's off of 10th, suggested we take a walk, and decide along the way. We chose one of the Thai places, but the street is a UN of small restaurants.
