We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
There's no slowdown, there's a stop. I suspect their data was largely wrong all along. A cooling trend is going to be an inconvenient truth because people tend to prefer warm weather.I like cold and snow and sleet in winter and warm in summer. In-between April is the worst, but we must be just happy to be alive.
Even discounting the fact that both of our great native states start with the letter 'C' and are composed of 10 to 11 letters, a boast no other state can make, it's true that we still have some work to do to make them perfect, and it's courageous of you to continue pointing out the areas where they can improve themselves.
Once again I invoke my 72 hour rule, ignore the wall to wall TV, radio, and internet news and reports on events like the Boston bombing for at least that long.
Almost everything other than the body count will be wrong.
First false report (Boston Herald online) that the authorities shut down cell phone service. (actually would have been a good and proactive idea, remote detonators use cells) Today, less than 18 hours, find out someone interpreted the jamming of wireless circuits as a shutoff by the Feds.
Second, suspect in case found in apartment raided last night in Revere (seacoast town several miles from Boston). This morning I heard local description of incident that someone saw "someone looking suspicious" (Driving while Arab?) who took off in a car, was followed to their apartment, which was then searched.
A Few other early reports are still waiting to be debunked.
The main problem that I see with the warmist models, err "settled science", is the confusion, or purposeful misleading, of CO2 cause and effect. The increased CO2 is largely a function of the increased warming not a cause of it.
The CO2 angle was a convenient motive for proposed massive and intrusive government regulation of energy, thus the economy. Unfortunately the models are falling apart before the regulations could be fully implemented...bummer.
