We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Doing some further "research" to find cached versions of the fake ad as it appeared with the AMLL trademark, I'm reminded of the line from the Tom Lehrer song: "Don't write naughty words on walls if you can't spell". "Pre owed" -- is that some kind of Freudian slip in reference to cost of ownership?
I also find it interesting culturally -- I'm in the part of the evangelical christian subculture where there is still (barely) a majority of the couples seeking marriage in the church where both parties are still virgins, and we are given to think that this is no longer "normal" for adults in either the statistical or common meanings of normal -- and yet if the concept did not have some resonance, the advertisement (real or not) would be ineffective.
