We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The only poll that counted we lost and the cost will be incalculable.
What will we conservatives have to give up to get in front of that in the future?
That future terrifies me since the election shows that the bulk of our (so called) citizens are completely apathetic.
Somebody says Gallup says: Americans Disapprove of Obama Policy on Nearly Every Issue.
We weren't going to comment, but this has begun propagating in the right wing echosphere. Gallup didn't ask about Obama policy, but job approval. For instance, some people may approve of Obama's policy on immigration (perhaps many immigrants), but don't think he's either pushed it hard enough or been effective at implementing the policy.
John the River, if you don't think our comments are correct, you can respond and explain why. Or you could simply ignore them.
The Gallup Poll was being misinterpreted. Many may give Obama low ratings on a particular area because they are on the political right and disapprove of his policies, but some may give low ratings to Obama that are on the political left. That answers JKB's concern raised above.
