We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Just lovely --that just set my mood for the day. Much better than just before, when reading the hard news from the bad places. Or izzat the bad news from the hard places.
At any rate, the "little brown church in the dale" reminded to be sure and announce that the sweet olde English word 'dale' is practically the same as 'dell' and 'vale' and all refer to small wooded valleys not quite big enough to be valleys such as a major river creates. Other words of similar meaning, 'strath' which just maaaay be Scots, and 'dingle' --which explains an earlier and far, far more appetizing meaning of 'dingle berry'. There's the creek or crick down in the dingle, where the conditions are ripe.
Brought to Maggie's for and by the easily entertained.
:-)
PS, having aligned the strath with Scotland, i should've mentioned Ireland, as the Dingle Peninsula is the northernmost of the major peninsulae in County Kerry. In fact, the westernmost point of Ireland is Dunmore Head, just beyond the town of Dingle.
I'm not going to pun ish our new Mr and Mrs Secretary of State, tho the thrust and parry of temptation do pierce and wound the promise ass we speak
