Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Not Little Richard

This feisty little prodigy is Sugar Chile Robinson, aka Frank Robinson. Quite a youthful career, but he quit music, went to college, and became a Psychologist and had a radio show.

My father was also a child prodigy pianist. He wound up without college, no radio show and probably ought to be in therapy. Still, he's managed to make a good living.

It 's interesting when you look into the backgrounds and subsequent "where are they now" of singers and former musicians. "Shanana", for example. produced a law professor, a world renowned orthopedic surgeon, a major hedge fund manager and real estate tycoon. All of "Shanana" eventually graduated from Columbia.

Musicians are a special breed.

At least those musicians who have the intellect to gain admittance to an Ivy League school are a special breed.
