We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
My pic is a Nantucket "3/4 house." December is a good time to throw on a sweater and a scarf and stroll the streets of downtown Nantucket to admire the early 19th C. architecture with the leaves off the trees and the limousine Liberal vacationers off the streets.

Thoughts On A Sunday
It's been another half-and-half weekend, weather wise. Between snow and sleet overnight Friday and into Saturday morning, a foggy Saturday evening, to a sunny and (relatively) warm Sunday, it has made for interesting driving conditions. At least the poorer weather...
Not a good comparison as much of means-tested benefits go to low income, not necessarily poor, families. A large portion goes to Medicaid, such as nursing home care, and for children.
"President Barack Obama reiterated his opposition to right-to-work legislation, saying he believes the economy is "stronger when workers get good wages and good benefits," and he opposes attempts to roll back their rights."
See if you give workers the right to work a job without paying off the union, then that is rolling back their rights....in the mind of Obama.
And the sad part is, none of the news media had the gumption to question that BS statement.
And still no nekkid wimmin as in: "I got this snapshot last night at a hot party before I was overwhelmed by lonely, nubile females. Saturnalia, Bacchanalia, Holiday Season - whatever you call it. A good female:satyr ratio as you can see."
