We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
What was Obama told at the September 10, 2012, NSC meeting on ‘9/11 threats’?
I don't know if we'll ever find out what happened if this administration stays in office. You can rest assured that they will try to play it out, stonewall, obfuscate - what ever they need to do to make it a low level.
And what annoys me to no end is that this is with the willing compliance of the Old Style Media which is riddled with "neo-journalists" with liberal sensitivities.
Most listservs have a rule of not relaying the emails among its members, and when such is done it is with the permission of those in the exchange and not identifying the listserv. Listservs usually exist for private communication among the members.
Had all of six kids, in two batches of three, ranging from 6 to 13. The first ones were out with Dad and an older sibling. I was a little bummed, as last year my husband did the duty alone and he got slammed.
Our weather out here in SF was showery but warm and humid. I live on the very western edge of the city, just a few blocks off the beach and foot traffic is slim even on the most pleasant of evenings. But, at least the kids had made a decent effort at costumes so I was happy to see that.
My kids went trick or treating in our neighborhood. We only had seven come to the door.
One thing I must comment about is the trick or treating at the mall, town square businesses, church trunk or treat events---ENOUGH already! Kids get so much 'stuff' on a regular basis it's no wonder they have no sense of gratitude. If it's not the business wanting more possible customers as well as community relations, it's the grandparent-types giving an over-the-top amount of candy and plastic crap made in China to each and every child they come in contact with. There were no less than 7 trick or treat opportunities in our little community alone--and that does not include the actual trick or treating last night. I know I must sound ungrateful but now I've get to deal with policing the amount of candy the kids consume and what to do with all the toy crap. I get to make the decision to reuse, recycle or trash. Yes, I guess I coulda just kept my kids home but golly, we are over-the-top with everything these days. Simple people, let's just get back to simple....
Yes, I ate too much candy last night too so I'm extra crabby today. Please forgive my grousing!
