We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Frankenstorm prediction for New England

Most recent NOAA storm prediction for the Northeastern US here.


Looks like they predict a major Nor'easter fueled by Hurricane Sandy. The dramatic prediction of perfect storm conditions will likely be wrong but heck, it's time to get your boat out of the water now anyway.

We're already getting battered down here in the Keys. Yesterday, we went under an official 'Watch', which is unusual for a storm that was still below Jamaica at the time. Today, we're being hit by a number of quick storms as they pass through, which is also unusual. That bit about "the calm before the storm" is generally true. The day before a hurricane strikes is usually eerily quiet. Not so today, tho'.

Buncha of pansies - what the hell - y'all are rugged New Englanders - a little Nor'easter gets y'all panicked? :>)

Ooof..I just looked at the Weather Underground prognostication - that could be one ugly Nor'easter. And there is some potential for a "perfect storm" scenario what with Tony floating around the same general area.
